Bamburgh Castle
The 1944 prologue set at a wartime fortress was filmed at Bamburgh Castle; specifically the Victorian King's Hall was used for the interior room in which Indy and Basil Shaw are held captive by the Nazis.

Glasgow
Glasgow's Victorian and Edwardian architecture was dressed to represent 1969 New York City for the ticker tape parade welcoming the Apollo 11 astronauts. Key streets used included St Vincent Street, Cochrane Street, Hope Street, and 55 Parnie Street; the City Chambers also featured. Glasgow doubled for the exterior of Hunter College (Jones's New York workplace) and surrounding Manhattan streets.

The corner of Hatton Garden and Hatton Wall was used for the scene in which Jones watches a TV broadcast in a shop window.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway
The prologue's WWII train sequence (set in 1944) was filmed here. The Grosmont Motive Power Depot was dressed as a German military base. Twelve carriages were used across 24 miles of the heritage railway, with the train doubling for a train travelling through Nazi-occupied Europe.

Pinewood Studios
Primary studio base. Significant interior sets were built here, including a replica of the 59th Street subway station (built on the 007 Stage), train interiors, and the interior of Hotel L'Atlantique. The film's 1960s New York apartment interiors were also built at Pinewood.
