Culbin Forest
Culbin Forest is a large forestry plantation on the Moray coast of Scotland, planted from the 1920s onward to stabilise what was once the largest sand dune system in Britain. The forest covers former farmland buried by drifting sand in the 17th century, and now offers waymarked trails through pine woodland and dunes bordering the Moray Firth. It is managed by Forestry and Land Scotland and is known for its wildlife, including red squirrels and ospreys. Its atmospheric, otherworldly landscape has made it a distinctive filming location.
