Filming Locations

  • Borough Market

    Stoney Street at the southeast edge of Borough Market stood in for the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron; it is where the Knight Bus drops Harry off after whisking him away from Little Whinging.

  • Fort William

    The Glenfinnan Viaduct near Fort William, on the West Highland Line, was used for the scene in which the Hogwarts Express is brought to a standstill as dementors board the train to search for Sirius Black.

  • King's Cross Station

    Platform 4 was used as Platform Nine and Three Quarters.

  • Leavesden Studios

    Leavesden Studios housed the main Hogwarts interior sets and was the production base for the film, with new sets including Hagrid's hut interiors and the Marauder's Map sequences built for this instalment.
