A fashion photographer in swinging London believes he has inadvertently captured evidence of a murder in the background of photographs taken in a park, but the more he investigates, the more uncertain the reality of what he saw becomes. Michelangelo Antonioni's enigmatic thriller uses the surfaces of 1960s London to explore the slipperiness of truth and perception.
