Corsham Court was used for the conference scenes set in Darlington Hall's cabinet room, where Lord Darlington hosts political gatherings in the 1930s.

Further scenes at Dyrham Park were filmed in the kitchen yard, capturing the working life of the downstairs household staff at Darlington Hall.

Powderham Castle provided interior scenes including the Blue Staircase, Library, and Music Room, as well as the final scene set beneath the domed ceiling in which a trapped pigeon becomes a symbolic moment for Stevens.
