Filming Locations

    Chobham Common in Surrey was used to film the opening sequence depicting T.E. Lawrence's fatal motorbike accident, which in reality took place in Dorset.

  • Merthyr Mawr

    The large sand dunes at Merthyr Mawr, including the giant dune known as The Big Dipper, were used to stand in for the desert landscapes of the Arabian Peninsula.

  • St. Paul's Cathedral

    The memorial service for T.E. Lawrence was filmed on the exterior steps of St Paul's Cathedral, with the interior scenes recreated in a Spanish studio.
