Lulworth Cove

Lulworth Cove

Lulworth Cove, Dorset, England

Lulworth Cove is a natural harbour on the Jurassic Coast in the county of Dorset, approximately 6 miles south of Wareham. It was formed by the erosion of a gap through a hard band of Portland limestone, allowing the sea to erode the softer Purbeck limestone and chalk behind to create its distinctive near-circular shape. The cove and surrounding coastline form part of the Jurassic Coast UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most visited natural attractions in southern England. The nearby Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch, is accessible on foot from the cove along the South West Coast Path.
