Black Mountains
The Black Mountains are a range of hills forming the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, lying along the border between Powys and Monmouthshire. The range consists of a series of long, gently rounded sandstone ridges and deep valleys running broadly north to south, rising to their highest point at Waun Fach at 811 metres. The area contains important archaeological features including Offa's Dyke path, and the Vale of Ewyas in the western part of the range is home to the ruined Llanthony Priory. The Black Mountains are a popular destination for walking and horse riding.
