Plockton
Plockton is a small village on a sheltered inlet of Loch Carron in Wester Ross, Highland, Scotland, approximately 6 miles northeast of Kyle of Lochalsh. The village is known for its unusually mild microclimate, which supports palm trees growing along the waterfront, a consequence of the warming influence of the Gulf Stream on the west Highland coast. Plockton gained wider recognition as the setting for the television drama Hamish Macbeth and is noted for its picturesque harbour, white-painted cottages, and views across the loch to the surrounding hills.
