Pembroke Castle
Pembroke Castle is a medieval castle located in the town of Pembroke in Pembrokeshire, south-west Wales. It was founded around 1093 by Roger de Montgomery as a Norman stronghold and was subsequently developed into one of the most powerful castles in Wales, featuring a massive circular keep dating from the late 12th century. The castle is notable as the birthplace of Henry Tudor, who became King Henry VII of England after defeating Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field in 1485. It is managed as a heritage attraction and is open to the public.
