Durdle Door

Durdle Door

Durdle Door, Dorset, England

Durdle Door is a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, England, situated approximately one mile west of Lulworth Cove and six miles south-east of Wareham. The arch was formed by the erosive action of the sea cutting through a headland of Portland limestone and is one of the most photographed and recognisable geological features in the United Kingdom. The Jurassic Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the area around Durdle Door is managed by the Lulworth Estate. Access to the beach below the arch is via a steep path from the clifftop car park.
