Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire is a county in South East England, dominated by the University of Oxford, one of the world's oldest and most renowned centres of learning, situated in the county town of Oxford. The landscape ranges from the Cotswolds in the north-west to the chalk hills of the Berkshire Downs in the south, with the Thames and the Vale of the White Horse defining much of the southern border. Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands at Woodstock in the north of the county. The county is also known for its ancient trackways, including the Ridgeway, often described as Britain's oldest road.
