Lancashire
Lancashire is a county in North West England, lying between the Irish Sea to the west and the Pennines to the east. The Forest of Bowland, a large upland area of heather moorland and sweeping valleys, dominates the northern part of the county and is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The county was central to the Industrial Revolution, with towns such as Blackburn, Burnley, and Preston becoming major centres of cotton weaving. Preston serves as the county town, while Blackpool, on the Fylde coast, is one of England's most visited seaside resorts.
