Victoria Hall
Victoria Hall is a public meeting hall in the model village of Saltaire in West Yorkshire, built by Sir Titus Salt in 1871 as part of his vision for a complete model community providing for the educational and recreational needs of his workforce. The hall was designed by architects Lockwood and Mawson in the Italianate style consistent with the rest of the village, and provided facilities for concerts, lectures, and public gatherings, reflecting the Victorian belief in rational recreation and self-improvement. The hall contains a large auditorium and has been used continuously as a community and entertainment venue throughout its history. It remains an active venue for performances and events and is an integral part of the Saltaire UNESCO World Heritage Site.
