Combe Martin

Combe Martin, Devon, England

Combe Martin is a village in the Exmoor National Park on the north Devon coast, situated in a long narrow valley that runs from the high moorland down to a small beach on the Bristol Channel. The village is notable for its exceptionally long and winding main street, said to be one of the longest village streets in England at over a mile in length, following the sinuous course of the valley. The Pack of Cards Inn, a 17th-century public house built to an unusual architectural plan said to reflect a deck of cards, is a particular local landmark. Combe Martin has a silver and lead mining heritage and is a popular destination for walkers exploring the Exmoor coast path.
