Salcombe

Salcombe

Salcombe, Devon, England

Salcombe is a small coastal town in the South Hams district of Devon, situated at the mouth of the Kingsbridge Estuary where it meets the sea. The town is built on steep slopes above the water and is known for its sheltered harbour, sandy beaches, and outstanding natural beauty, making it one of the most popular and expensive seaside destinations in south-west England. The estuary provides sheltered waters for sailing, and Salcombe is a significant centre for yachting and water sports on the south Devon coast. The town is accessible only by a narrow winding road, which contributes to its exclusivity and the peak-season congestion it experiences.
