New Brighton
New Brighton is a seaside town on the northern tip of the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside, facing the Irish Sea at the mouth of the River Mersey, connected to Liverpool by the Mersey Ferry and the Merseyrail network. The town was developed as a fashionable seaside resort in the Victorian era and at its peak was one of the most popular seaside destinations in England, with a large pier, tower, and fairground. While much of the Victorian resort infrastructure has been demolished, New Brighton retains a seafront promenade and beach and has seen significant regeneration investment in recent years.
