Raby Castle
Raby Castle is a substantial medieval castle located near the village of Staindrop in County Durham, in the north of England, approximately 11 miles southwest of Durham city. Built largely in the 14th century by the powerful Neville family, the castle features nine towers and is one of the largest inhabited medieval castles in England, having been the seat of the Lords Barnard for over 350 years. The castle is surrounded by a deer park covering approximately 200 acres and contains a collection of historic artworks and furnishings, and is open to the public.
