Northington Grange

Northington Grange

Northington Grange, Hampshire, England

The Grange at Northington is a neoclassical country house located in the village of Northington in Hampshire, approximately 5 miles north of New Alresford. The house was remodelled in the early 19th century by the architect William Wilkins in the form of an ancient Greek temple, and is regarded as one of the most ambitious examples of Greek Revival architecture in Britain. The building was left unoccupied and fell into disrepair in the 20th century but has since been stabilised as a preserved ruin and is managed by English Heritage. The walled grounds are used as the venue for an annual outdoor opera festival, the Grange Festival.
