Holywell Bay
Holywell Bay is a sandy beach and small settlement located on the north Cornish coast, approximately 4 miles south-west of Newquay. The beach is noted for its large sand dunes, rock pools, and the dramatic coastal scenery typical of the north Cornwall coast. The bay takes its name from a freshwater holy well located in the caves at the southern end of the beach, which was a site of religious pilgrimage in medieval times. The area is part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is managed partly by the National Trust.
