Hitchin
Hitchin is a market town in the North Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire, England, situated approximately 32 miles north of London. The town has a long history, with evidence of settlement dating back to the Iron Age, and it grew as a significant market centre during the medieval period. Hitchin is known for its largely intact medieval street plan, its lavender fields in the surrounding countryside, and its large medieval parish church of St Mary. The town is served by the Midland Main Line railway and is a commuter town for London.
