Brompton Cemetery
Brompton Cemetery is one of the Magnificent Seven Victorian garden cemeteries of London, located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, on the boundary with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Opened in 1840, it covers approximately 39 acres and is laid out in a formal design with a central colonnaded chapel. The cemetery is a Grade I listed park and garden and contains the graves of a number of notable figures including the suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst and the composer Samuel Sebastian Wesley. It is managed by the Royal Parks and is open to the public as both an active burial ground and a public open space.
