Torbay
Torbay is a unitary authority area on the south Devon coast, consisting of the three towns of Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham arranged around the shores of a broad south-facing bay. The area has a mild climate influenced by its southerly aspect and proximity to the sea, which supports the growth of palm trees and other subtropical plants, earning it the nickname the English Riviera. Torquay is the largest of the three towns and the birthplace of Agatha Christie, and the bay's clear waters, sandy beaches, and red sandstone cliffs make it one of England's most popular seaside destinations.
