Yorkshire
Yorkshire is the largest historic county in England, covering a vast and varied area of northern England from the North Sea coast in the east to the Pennines in the west. The county encompasses three national parks: the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, and part of the Peak District, as well as the dramatic sea cliffs and fishing villages of the Heritage Coast. Yorkshire's landscape ranges from the wild gritstone moors of the Brontë country to the broad agricultural Vale of York and the industrial legacy of the West Riding's textile towns. Leeds is the largest city, while York, with its Viking heritage, medieval walls, and magnificent Minster, is the county's historic capital.
