York Minster
York Minster is the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe and the seat of the Archbishop of York, the second most senior figure in the Church of England. Construction of the current building began in the 13th century and was largely completed by 1472, incorporating Early English, Decorated, and Perpendicular Gothic architectural styles across its long building history. The Minster is renowned for its extraordinary medieval stained glass, which represents approximately half of all medieval stained glass surviving in England, and the building dominates the skyline of the historic city of York.
