Wrest Park Estate
Wrest Park is a historic country house and landscape garden located near the village of Silsoe in Bedfordshire, managed by English Heritage. The present mansion was built in the French style in the 1830s for the Earl de Grey and is notable for its elaborate formal gardens, which were laid out from the late 17th century onwards and include a canal, a baroque pavilion, and extensive parterres. The gardens are considered among the finest examples of formal garden design in England, representing changing tastes over more than 200 years. The estate is open to the public and the mansion hosts events and exhibitions.
