Whitney-on-Wye
Whitney-on-Wye is a small village and civil parish in Herefordshire, situated beside the River Wye close to the English-Welsh border. The village is set within attractive countryside along the Wye Valley, which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty further downstream. A notable feature is Whitney toll bridge, one of the last remaining privately operated toll bridges in England, which spans the River Wye at this point. The settlement consists of scattered farms and houses with a church, surrounded by agricultural land typical of the Golden Valley area of Herefordshire.
