Whiteleys Shopping Centre
Whiteleys is a historic shopping centre in Queensway, Bayswater, in the City of Westminster, London, housed in a large Edwardian baroque building that was originally one of the first and grandest department stores in the world. The original Whiteleys department store was founded by William Whiteley in the 1860s and moved to the current building, designed by Belcher and Joass and completed in 1912, which became a landmark of west London retail. The building was converted from a department store to a shopping centre in 1989 and has more recently undergone a major redevelopment as a luxury residential and retail complex. The building is Grade II listed.
