Waterford, Republic of Ireland

Waterford is a county in the southeast of Ireland in the province of Munster, with a coastline along the Celtic Sea and the Waterford Estuary. Waterford city, the county town, is one of Ireland's oldest cities, founded by the Vikings in the 9th century and situated on the south bank of the River Suir. The Copper Coast to the west of the city is a UNESCO Global Geopark noted for its volcanic geology. The Comeragh and Monavullagh mountains rise in the north of the county.
