Warwickshire
Warwickshire is an inland county in the West Midlands of England, often referred to as Shakespeare's county due to its association with William Shakespeare, who was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564. The Forest of Arden once covered much of the northern part of the county and provided the setting for Shakespeare's As You Like It. The county contains an exceptionally rich collection of medieval castles and country houses, most notably the impressive Warwick Castle on the River Avon. Warwick serves as the county town, while the spa town of Royal Leamington Spa is the county's largest settlement.
