Twickenham
Twickenham is a district in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in south-west London, situated on the north bank of the River Thames between Richmond and Teddington. It is internationally known as the home of English rugby union, with Twickenham Stadium, the largest rugby union venue in the world, hosting England internationals and major cup finals. The area has historic associations with Alexander Pope, who lived at his villa on the Thameside, and with Strawberry Hill, Horace Walpole's gothic revival castle now open to visitors. Twickenham has a vibrant riverside character with pubs, restaurants, and Georgian riverside terraces.
