Theatre Royal Drury Lane
The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane is a West End theatre in the Covent Garden area of the City of Westminster, London, and is the oldest theatre site in continuous use in the English-speaking world. There has been a theatre on the site since 1663, when the first Drury Lane theatre was built following the Restoration of Charles II. The current building, the fourth on the site, was completed in 1812 to a design by Benjamin Dean Wyatt and seats approximately 2,200 people. The theatre has hosted premieres of works by writers and composers including Sheridan, Handel, and David Garrick and is currently undergoing management and renovation.
