St Mary's Hospital is a large NHS teaching hospital located in Praed Street, Paddington, in the City of Westminster, London. Founded in 1845, it is one of London's major acute hospitals and forms part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The hospital is internationally renowned as the site where Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin in 1928, and a museum on the premises commemorates this discovery. St Mary's is also well known as the hospital where several members of the Royal Family have been born, including Princes William and Harry and their children.
