St. Katherine Docks
St. Katharine Docks is a former commercial dock located immediately east of the Tower of London, on the north bank of the Thames in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Built between 1825 and 1828 to designs by Thomas Telford, it was the closest dock to the City of London and was redeveloped after closure in 1968 into a marina, residential, and commercial complex. Today the docks are home to a working marina, hotel, restaurants, and offices, and the area retains much of its original historic dock architecture.
