St. Ives

St. Ives, Cornwall, England

St Ives is a fishing town and tourist resort on the north coast of the Penwith peninsula in Cornwall, England, situated approximately 10 miles north of Penzance on the southwestern edge of St Ives Bay. The town is internationally known as an artists' colony, attracted by its exceptional quality of light, and is home to Tate St Ives, a branch of the Tate gallery focusing on modern and contemporary art with a strong connection to the St Ives School of painting. The town centre consists of narrow cobbled streets of white and granite cottages clustered around a working harbour, with sandy beaches on three sides of the headland.
