Southmere Lake

Southmere Lake is an artificial lake located in the Thamesmead estate in southeast London, originally constructed in the 1960s and 1970s as part of the Greater London Council's ambitious housing development. The lake is surrounded by brutalist housing blocks and green parkland, and forms a central feature of the Thamesmead landscape. It is situated near the River Thames in the London Borough of Bexley and Bexleyheath area, and has become well known as a filming location due to its distinctive modernist surroundings.
