Smock Windmill
The Lacey Green Windmill, commonly known as the Smock Mill, is a post mill located in the village of Lacey Green near Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire, in the Chiltern Hills. It is believed to be the oldest surviving smock mill in England, with its internal machinery dating from around 1650, making it a structure of considerable importance in the history of milling. The mill was restored by the Chiltern Society in the 1970s and is now open to the public on certain days. The reference to High Wycombe reflects its location within the general High Wycombe area of Buckinghamshire, though Lacey Green is more precisely associated with Princes Risborough.
