Salisbury

Salisbury, Wiltshire, England

Salisbury is a cathedral city in Wiltshire, England, situated at the confluence of the rivers Avon, Nadder, Wylye, and Bourne in the southern part of Salisbury Plain. The city is dominated by Salisbury Cathedral, whose 123-metre spire is the tallest in Britain, and which houses one of the four surviving copies of Magna Carta. Salisbury is also the nearest city to Stonehenge, the prehistoric monument located approximately 8 miles to the north, and the medieval city grid plan, largely intact, makes it one of the best-preserved medieval planned cities in England.
