Salford

Salford is a city in Greater Manchester, England, situated on the west bank of the River Irwell directly adjacent to Manchester city centre, from which it is separated only by the river. The city has undergone substantial regeneration, particularly in the MediaCityUK development at Salford Quays on the Manchester Ship Canal, which is home to the BBC and ITV studios as well as other media organisations. Salford is home to the University of Salford and the Lowry arts complex, and has a long working-class heritage associated with the industrial history of the region.
