RAF Northolt
RAF Northolt is a Royal Air Force station located in Ruislip, in the London Borough of Hillingdon in west London. It is the oldest active military airfield in the United Kingdom, having been established in 1915, and played a significant role during the Battle of Britain in the Second World War. Today it serves primarily as a VIP transport facility for the Royal Family, government, and military personnel, and also handles civilian business aviation. The station lies adjacent to the A40 Western Avenue and is a prominent landmark in west London.
