Postman’s Park

Postman's Park, London, England

Postman's Park is a small public garden in the City of London, located near St Paul's Cathedral on Little Britain. It was created in 1880 on the site of the former churchyard of St Botolph's Aldersgate. The park is best known for the Watts Memorial to Heroic Self Sacrifice, a Victorian ceramic tile monument commemorating ordinary people who died saving the lives of others. It takes its informal name from its popularity with postal workers from the nearby former General Post Office headquarters.
