Pembroke Docks
Pembroke Dock is a town in Pembrokeshire, south-west Wales, situated on the southern shore of the Daugleddau estuary which feeds into Milford Haven waterway. The town was purpose-built in the 19th century to service the Royal Naval Dockyard established there in 1814, which became one of the Royal Navy's principal dockyard facilities and built many significant warships during its operational life. The dockyard closed in 1926 and the town has subsequently developed as a civilian port, with ferry services to Rosslare in Ireland operating from the terminal. The dockyard buildings include a number of Georgian and Victorian structures and the Martello towers, several of which are listed buildings.
