Millennium Dome

Millennium Dome, Greenwich, London, England

The Millennium Dome, now known as The O2, is a large entertainment complex located on the Greenwich Peninsula in south-east London, within the London Borough of Greenwich. The distinctive white dome structure was built to house the Millennium Experience exhibition to mark the year 2000 and was designed by the architect Richard Rogers. After the exhibition closed, the site was redeveloped and reopened in 2007 as The O2, one of the world's busiest and most successful live entertainment venues. The arena within the dome has a capacity of approximately 20,000 and hosts major concerts, sporting events, and other performances.
