Maida Vale
Maida Vale is an affluent residential district in west London, situated in the City of Westminster, bordered by Paddington to the south and Kilburn to the north. The area is characterised by wide tree-lined avenues and large stucco-fronted Victorian mansion blocks, and takes its name from the Battle of Maida fought in Calabria, Italy in 1806. It is perhaps best known as the home of the BBC's Maida Vale Studios, a complex of recording studios that has been central to British broadcasting since the 1930s.
