Leeson Street

Leeson Street, Dublin, Republic of Ireland

Leeson Street is a thoroughfare in Dublin running from St. Stephen's Green southeastward toward Donnybrook, passing through the inner south city. The upper portion of the street, known as Upper Leeson Street, crosses the Grand Canal at Leeson Street Bridge and continues through a prosperous residential district. The street is flanked by Georgian and Victorian terraces, many of which have been converted to offices, embassies, and guesthouses. Leeson Street has historically been known for its basement nightclubs that operated under special late-night licences.
