Lamorna Cove

Lamorna Cove

Lamorna Cove, Cornwall, England

Lamorna Cove is a small harbour and cove on the south Cornish coast, located approximately 5 miles south-west of Penzance on the Penwith Peninsula. The cove is reached by a steep valley and was historically used as a small quarrying harbour, exporting granite cut from the surrounding moorland. The area became known in the early 20th century as the home of the Newlyn School of artists, several of whom lived and worked in and around Lamorna. The cove and its surrounding coastal footpaths form part of the South West Coast Path and the broader Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Penwith Peninsula.
