Kilnsey is a hamlet in the upper Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, approximately six miles north of Grassington in North Yorkshire. It is best known for Kilnsey Crag, a dramatic overhanging limestone cliff rising approximately 170 feet above the valley floor and a celebrated venue for rock climbing. The area is a classic Dales limestone landscape with dry stone walls, pastures, and distinctive glacially carved valley scenery.
