Isle of Man

Isle of Man, England

The Isle of Man is a self-governing Crown Dependency situated in the Irish Sea, roughly equidistant between England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. The island is dominated by a central mountain range, with Snaefell at 621 metres being the highest point, from which all four surrounding nations can be seen on a clear day. The Isle of Man has its own parliament, Tynwald, claimed to be one of the oldest continuous parliaments in the world, and operates with a high degree of autonomy from the United Kingdom. It is internationally famous for the Tourist Trophy (TT) motorcycle races held annually on its public roads.
