Hengrove Park
Hengrove Park is a large public open space in the south of Bristol, situated on the site of the former Whitchurch Airport, which served Bristol as its civil airport from 1930 to 1957. The site was subsequently used for a variety of purposes including the Hengrove Leisure Park, and has been progressively redeveloped as a public park with a leisure centre, skate park, and open recreational areas. It is one of the largest parks in Bristol and serves as an important green space in the south Bristol residential suburbs. The area is close to the Hengrove and Whitchurch communities.
