Hebden Bridge
Hebden Bridge is a small post-industrial market town in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, situated at the confluence of the Hebden Water and the River Calder in a steep-sided Pennine valley. The town developed as an important centre for the textile industry, particularly the production of corduroy and fustian, with numerous mills along the valley floor. Following industrial decline in the mid-20th century, Hebden Bridge reinvented itself as a haven for artists, craftspeople, and alternative lifestyles, earning a reputation as one of Britain's most bohemian and progressive communities. Today the town has a thriving arts scene, independent shops, cafés, and a large LGBT+ community, and attracts visitors to the surrounding moorland landscapes of the South Pennines.
